
Phillip T. George MD.
Dr. George is a Managing Director of Private Equity Fund III L.P. and serves on the TTGA Advisory Board where he is actively involved with reviewing investment opportunities. Dr. George co-founded Trivest, Inc., a middle market private equity firm, in 1983 and served as its Chairman until 1999. He was instrumental in the acquisition and recapitalization of companies valued in the aggregate in excess of $1.3 billion in a variety of industries ranging from medical products and scientific equipment manufacturing to circuit board and apparel manufacturing. Following Trivest, he managed multiple investment partnerships, venture capital transactions, acquired aircraft leasing, and air cargo companies. Dr. George has served on the Board of and was Co-Founder of a number of public companies. He was on the Board and invested with Dr. Phillip Frost and others in IVAX, a major generic pharmaceutical company that was sold to Teva for $7.9 billion in 2006. Dr. George has been on the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami for 30 years and has served as its Chairman. Presently serves as Vice Chairman of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Miami. Dr. George received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Pennsylvania State University, Medical Doctor Degree from University of Miami and ultimately completed his surgical training at George Washington Hospital and Plastic Reconstruction Surgical Residency at University of California, San Francisco.
